Faerie Hax and Dunan
September 8, 2007 by London Spengler
Before I start, I wanted to add a picture that Zippora sended me before I went on holidays, took at Pandoria’s Social Club while she was having fun with her camel; I hadn’t time to post it before I went away, and I was burning to publish it :-)

I want to publish the story of Faerie Hax and her beloved Dunan, since their exotic beauty deeply impressed me when I met them (remember the motto? readers, readers, and free promotion :-p). Btw, they asked me for a holding hands anim for the Pandora, as you can see in the picture below. I am not too convinced about releasing it, since it is hard to get it working right, so I imagine I will put it in a freebie vendor next week.

I don’t want to interrupt their wonderfull story with a NSFW cut so I’ll put most of their pictures at the end, leaving only the SFW (Dunan’s?) dragon, bathing.

(And now, I’ll add a link to the enchanted city of Samarkand and, without more preamble, here you have their story)
Children let me tell you a tale: A tale of two Fae.
On the evening of Lughnassad (which is the first of August in the modern calendar), the Faerie Queen summoned her court. At the stroke of midnight her court would move, just as it had twice a year for every year since time began. Tonight however tragedy lurked for two sisters had not answered the summons and at the last stroke of midnight they were left behind.
Left behind.
Alone.
Except for each other.
And hunted.
For the dark elves we call Drow had laid a trap knowing that if they could delay any such foolish Fae beyond midnight on this night the fae would be beyond their Royal protection. Too weak and cowardly to challenge either the Faerie King or Queen directly, the Drow would seek to isolate one or two individuals on moving nights so that they would be left behind. Rarely did they suceed, but this time was different.
The fate of any that fall into the hands of the Drow is nothing but hideous pain and torment for as long as the Drow can make it last. But the Drow seem to always hold a special place in their hatred for the Fae.
So the sisters fled. And the Drow pursued.
How long they fled and how far is impossible to say, for the Drow and the Fae do not measure time or distance the same way that we mortals do, but it was very long chase and it went further than any mortal can understand.
And still the Drow pursued. Their hatred driving them on.
In desperation the sisters fled to a place they knew the Drow feared - the treeless, lifeless, sandy wastes where the Sun beat down with unrelenting fury and dark souled Dragons and even darked souled Djinn roamed. A place where Fae and Drow alike feared to tread.
Alone and lost the sisters wandered the wastelands until they found a human city. A city called Samarkand. A city unlike any human city they had ever seen before, but a city with a hope for the sisters, for in its heart was a great sacred grove of trees!
Exhausted, the sisters took refuge in the grove.
Now we all know that groves of trees do not grow in the middle of cities without a lot of care and protection and this grove was certainly no exception for in that wasteland it took a lot of effort to make the trees prosper. But the sisters did not know this, neither did they care, for they were very weak and their need was so great.
So it came to be that one morning the owner and protector of the grove found two lost fae asleep in his garden. Creyes was his name and fortunately for the sisters he was both a man of great wealth and influence in the city as well as a man of good heart and learning. So while he did not know exactly what the two strange winged creatures he had found were - he was not afraid of them. In fact he was so entranced by their beauty that he forbade any of his household from going into the garden lest they disturb the wonders he had found. His learning gave him patience and, left unmolested, the sisters recovered. But the fascination and entrancement he felt did not diminish.
Gradually the man Creyes gradually made his presence known. The sisters were wary of the human but not afraid. They saw the love in his heart and knew that they were welcome.
Now children, we all know that if the Fae ever accept a gift they always repay it in kind. Kindness with more kindness. Anger with more anger and so on. So it was that Creyes found that in exchange for his kindness, the grove of trees flourished beyond anything that had been seen there before, and the fortunes of the man and his family also prospered with them. Some say he came to love the sisters as if they were his own daughters!
And that children is the end of my tale. What became of the sisters is not known but the fame of Samarkand spread throughout the land, and as we know, fame attracts the jealous.
Ok, after the NSFW cut, two bathing pictures at the Caldarium on Pandora’s Peace (*sigs* I want a skin like that):

Now one of the cuddles…

And to end this post, another example of what can happen when a dance animation unsynch :-)

I want to thank again Faerie and Dunan for sharing their pictures and their story, and to remember everybody that you can come here, too… you will help a poor, lazy blogger filling some space, and I am sure everybody will love meeting you :-)

Oh, wow, London, what a beauty! (and I mean camel here :)
If you would guess from my name, I might have some affinity with camels… and in fact I do :)
I collect camel figurines (as well as many other ‘thingies’ related to these cute creatures) in RL and now - and increasingly - in SL too. I would *love* to have such a pet - any chance to learn where in SL I can buy it or pick up otherwise ? Would really appreciate a hint!
[That's not to say that all other pictures are not gorgeous too!]
Oh wow. o.o Fae, so very pretty.. I have this urge to wander around random forests ’till I run into them. Can’t help but want to take in such beauty. ::Nods.::
Love the story.. back grounds are always interesting to read. ^^;
I wonder.. I dunno if I could do that with my character. That’d be.. uhm, quite complicated. Lots of old tidbits to go through. Interesting section though.. ^^
:: Pounces and smothers London with kisses.:: Missed you.
Woohoo, that is me and my sweetheart (errrm the camel *wink*)! Thank you for posting my pic, London :-)
But, o my, I feel like being nothing, when I see those beautiful faes following my picture. They look gorgeous. This is how I imagine faes should look like. (Somehow this fae ended up with a neko-skin and is pretty attached to that now - lol). And I love the story :))
@centrasian
I bought the camel at SLExchange: it’s free. It’s scripted: the owner can ride it, the camel can follow his owner, or just walk around. And more pics of me and my camel are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/zippora/sets/72157600333868654/
Oh thank you London for posting our pictures. We had a lot of fun taking them for you :)
…”(*sighs* I want a skin like that)”…
Our skins - both the dark one and the green one in the last picture - are from Sin Skins Ethyria range. There’s a large range of colours to choose from.
They may be a bit tricky to find because the shops consists of multiple buildings but when you do get there Portia Sin has provided a demo pack so you can try every colour on first.
Zippora: your camel isn’t on SLExchange anymore :(

Oops silly me
“I mean camel here” :-p. Anyway, this is the first time I’ve heard of camels as cute… stubborn, fast, ill tempered, kidney killers, even amazing desert ships… but cute? *smiles*. Anyway, Zippora, can you edit your camel and look for the name of the builder? maybe that way we can find if there is a shop for it.
Thanks for the landmark, will check it tonight (skins need a lot of time to decide) and show you the results :-)
Lol.. Stubborn, fast, ill tempered… Lmao @ amazing desert ships… Wow. London, you have a wonderful way with words. ^.~ So funny. ^^;
Hey, my camel actually IS cute! And stubborn too, lol.
The builder of this sweet animal is Jesrad Seraph. I looked up her profile and apparently she has her own shop here: La Terre D’Aubret, Wyvernclaw Tower, EverLite (42, 41, 29). Not only camels, but all kinds of animated, rideable giant animals :)))
Well, thanks for the praise, Kat, but camels had always been nicknamed “barcos del desierto” (desert ships) at Spain, mainly because they quickly navigate the sand, in a way that makes you seasick. So probably it isn’t so much a way with words but an inability to obtain an accurated translation :-p.
And, ok, maybe some camels are cute :-)
