Getting started

- Touch the main button to activate the menu, select Tools-AddPerm on the menu to get a list of avatars in a 10m range and press over the name one of them to ask permissions.
- The avatar will receive the following message: Pandora is going to ask permission to animate you, and will keep it if granted. While being animated you can use the following commands: /1 stop (to stop animation) or /1 remove (to remove animation permission).
- You will be notified if the avatar grants or denies animation permissions. Keep trying until somebody gives them to you :-)
- Now is a good moment to try the hug animation… walk until you bump face to face (or from behind, if you want to try HugBack), activate the menu and select Hug; remember that pressing the space bar makes avatars walk slowly.
- The animation should start on both of you, and end when you press the Stop button or the other avatar says /1 stop. You can start another ones over this avatar without having to ask permissions again.
- Once you start storing permissions you will be able to animate multiple avies. Try getting near to two friends and give them a big three way hug. The limit is 12 stored permissions, but you can always use Tools-DelPerm to free some slots.
- You can try the reverse button to exchange animations between you and the hugged avie. All the animations are configurated considering that the avatar with the Pandora is taller, so if you aren’t too tall you should leave the Reverse active (remember, you can change this modifying the configuration notecard).
- The hud have some single animations, too, like sitting on the floor or having a nap. You can use the reverse button to “proyect” this single animations on other targets. For example, pressing Sit makes you sit on the floor (astounding, isn’t it?), but with reverse active the same button will sit all controlled avatars in range.
- The standard animation range is 10m (MRange), but if your friends start hugging the air around you, it is a good idea to use Tools-SRange to change it to 1 meter; you can also use LRange to raise it to 20 meters (good for big group animations, like TaiChi) or MRange to leave it in the default 10.
And that’s all; you should be able now to use the main features of your Pandora Hud. But if you want to add your own animations, or simply tweak it, you will need to learn how to edit the configuration notecard.
